RiseUp is for anyone who wants to enjoy financial wellbeing. And that includes freelancers. To join RiseUp as a freelancer, all you need to do is:

  • Have separate business and private accounts
  • To get an accurate cash flow and monthly forecast, you need to have a (somewhat) stable monthly income. If your income fluctuates a lot every month, we recommend keeping all your business income in one account and then paying yourself a salary each month into your personal account. We can help you work out what that salary should be.

Yes, you can add your partner to your account and achieve financial wellbeing together. You’ll share the same account and enjoy the same great tools and benefits, at no extra cost. Just head over to your Settings in the app:

👉 They’ll get an email inviting them to sign up

👉 They click the link in the email and complete their registration

Keeping you and your data safe and secure when you’re on RiseUp is our number one priority.

We have the strictest security standards and protocols in place, and we are registered with the Financial Conduct Authority.

RiseUp connects with your bank accounts using TrueLayer, the world’s leading open banking network. We have read-only access to your data, meaning we cannot do anything in your account, and we only see what you give us permission to see. You can check out TrueLayer’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for added peace of mind.

We also work in compliance with the UK’s Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Your data is stored on Amazon Web Servers using the highest protection of data and systems going.

You can cancel your subscription at any time, here’s how:

👉 Head to Settings in the top right of the app

👉 Click “Subscription details” then “Manage Subscription”

👉 You can then select “Cancel plan”

You’ll be able to see under your subscription details that the app status is “Cancelled”. And if you change your mind, you can always renew your subscription later on.

If you’d like to permanently delete your account and data, you can do that through your settings, or get in touch through the in-app chat and we’ll be happy to help.
